"Individuals should be treated the same, unless they differ in ways that are relevant to the situation in which they are involved.
.Is the Justice system really just? As time has passed we keep on seeing how innocent people have been doing time for crimes they haven't committed or are being killed by police for example,  Michael Brown a colored male  was shot and  killed by Officer Darren Wilson a white officer from Ferguson Missouri on August 9,2014. What people seem to claim it as police brutality. People became outraged with this that they decided to
Does the Government  single out certain race? There has been controversy on how some people think the Justice System is racist due to police brutality.
Our Justice system takes us back to the Judiciary Act of 1789 that was officially called "An Act to Establish the Judicial Courts of the United States" which  was signed by President George Washington on September 24, 1989. This established the structure of the federal court system. Which was meant for everyone to get equal justice as time passed the definition of justice has been changing. We have been seeing innocent people get charged for a minor crime incident but get a harsh punishment.
We claim “equal” justice, but its not, there are people who don't fully feel protected, they live in the shadows. When I was an active member of a youth led activist group called AJUA I saw cases on where , Latinos were being sent to jail and then deported just for driving without a license, its not just them that have to suffer but their families to. According to the The Department of Homeland Security website they held breaking record of 429,000 immigrants across the country who are facing deportation over minor cases.
While we reflect on the incidents that we've seen around the world, we are left with the task of figuring how to move forward and turn our anger and frustration into a chance to make a positive change.

President Obama presented a 3 year project that would make police officers wear body worn cameras but really more should be done. We need a smarter approach to this Justice system, we don't need to focus on race to make our communities better, that only creates fear.

U.S Justice System
This semester I have decided to research the US Justice System because it might be a possible career.
I think this is an important problem because it has become a big issue in today's society, due to unequal punishments.

1. Is our Justice system really just?
2.Does the justice system single out minorities?
3. Is police brutality an issue?
4. Is justice consistent for individuals living in this country without being citizens?
5. Has the war on drugs been successful?
